Ezra Tekola is a sape' player and maker who has a passion for traditional arts and is keen on learning about them in depth. He strives to preserve the indigenous heritage of Borneo and make it more accessible for younger generations to appreciate and understand.

 

His approach to making sape' is to add decorative pieces or motifs that are personal or unique where no two sape's are the same so that buying a sape' is akin to collecting a piece of art, in doing so it revolutionises sape'-making whilst still rooted in tradition.
